No posed lineups, no "look here and smile." Booking purely on Instagram aesthetics. A beautifully colour-graded reel doesn't tell you if the photographer can handle a chaotic 200-guest sangeet or find good angles in a dim banquet hall.
Not asking about shooting hours. Some cheaper packages only cover 6–8 hours, which sounds fine until your baraat runs two hours late and your photographer has to leave before the pheras.
Ignoring the contract details. Verbal promises mean nothing without them written down — number of photographers, functions covered, delivery timeline, and what counts as extra.
Paying the full amount upfront. Standard practice across Delhi is roughly 50% advance to block the date, with the balance due before or on the day of the first event. Be cautious of anyone asking for 100% months in advance.
Not checking travel costs for destination weddings. If your wedding is in Udaipur or Jaipur but the studio is Delhi-based, travel and stay for the team is usually billed separately. Get this confirmed early.
